I grew up with no father. He was absent most of the time in my younger years and later became a bigamist. I only tell you this becuz, after I joined the church, I had no trouble relating to a BROTHERS love, but the concept of a loving FATHER was so foreign to me, I struggled with it. To me, a "father" meant someone who didn't care about you, or only cared about you when he felt like it and it wouldn't take anything away from him. I felt as if, in any request I asked of my Father in Heaven, his reply or action would be based entirely upon what HE wanted, with no consideration for what I needed and I would just have to live with that. Consider speaking on the reality that when an earthly being is "fathering" or "parenting" he is truly modeling to his children an image of what a FATHER, especially a HEAVENLY FATHER, is. He should consider what image he is creating and how that may later effect his childrens willingness or comfort in turning to and having a relationship with, their Heavenly Father . If you have a loving, kind and supportive earthly father, express your thanks for that blessing and share how that may have helped you relate to your interaction and belief in your HEAVENLY FATHER. Hope this helps. Good luck to you 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

you are so welcome. I am thankful that I had something to offer and an opportunity to share. About 2 years ago, when son #4 went on his mission to canada, we had long talks about his need to "be a voice". I promised him that if he would try to take every opportunity to be a voice, I would so the same thing. Since then, The Lord has asked me to turn that promise to my son into a promise to Him, so I have. I have created a mission statement for that promise I am here for an “earthly” lifetime. I do not desire to make a “name” for myself or carve my efforts into “earthly” history. It does not matter who remembers my name or what I may have done. Others were here before me and others will come after me. The stewardship and the multiplying and harvesting of the talents that are entrusted to me during my time here, this is the work that matters. It is the PEOPLE that count. The individuals and their needs. Every brother Every sister Every child Every family This is what counts. Gods Best to you. Do you find this valuable? |
